Can
my front door be refinished?
It all depends on the quality and condition of the
door, whether or not it is painted and the material used to construct
the door (wood, metal, fiberglass, etc.).
Do
you
work through contractors or directly?
We work through both general contractors and
various
woodworking companies throughout Maryland as well as directly with
Owners.
Why
would
a woodworking company use a finisher if they already have one?
In our past experience with woodworking
companies, many
times their finishing department will hit a "bottleneck" effect where
there is too much work to finish on schedule. In situations such as
these, the company will sub work out to Wood Wizards. Also, many
finishers cannot work "on-site"- so when cabinets or elevations get
installed on-site unfinished- they will sub the work to Wood Wizards to
finish.
Does
my front door have to be taken offsite to be refinished?
If
the door is constructed of wood and stained - the answer is "no".
Your door can be stripped and refinished at your residence or business.
It will, however, have to come off the hinges for 1-2 hours to be
stripped and sanded.
What
can your business strip on-site?
Kitchens, reception desks, walls, and pretty much
anything and
everything that is made of wood. Feel free to contact us for more info
on this subject. We would be happy to look at your situation and let
you know all your options.
Do you
provide references?
Yes,
if you request them, we will provide them.
What
do you mean by "will work to your schedule"?
Wood
Wizards, Inc. are flexible and will work all hours. The difference
between us and the competition is we offer one set rate for night shift
or day shift while most companies will charge premiums for night work.
Do you
offer any type of guarantee for your work?
Yes,
just because we are finished with your job does not mean we will
disappear. We offer a 1 year guarantee on all of our finished products
to cover any finish failure.
Do you
do restaurant work?
Yes,
but only during closed hours of operations. We can do stripping,
refinishing or touch-up to any restaurant's woodwork.
Do you
work outside of the state of Maryland?
Yes,
we do work up and down the eastern seaboard and are willing to
travel wherever the job takes us. We have just recently moved into a
2,000 sq. ft shop complete with spray booth, so we are able to take on
larger scopes of in house work.
What
are the pros and cons to finishing and replacing?
It
depends on the situation. In most cases, for custom woodwork and
antique walls, reception desks, etc., it is more cost effective and
timely to have these irreplaceable items touched up or refinished as
opposed to replacement.
